The Mariners disdain of Cleveland is well known (Ichiro on Cleveland: “If I ever saw myself saying I’m excited going to Cleveland, I’d punch myself in the face, because I’m lying.” Conversely, Seattle band The Presidents of the United States of America on Cleveland (covering Ian Hunter): “Cleveland Rocks.”) One reason the Mariners (and everyone else) doesn’t like Cleveland is that it’s cold for their little handses. Just look at Yuniesky Betancourt at tonight’ game:

That’s a Little Hotties(c) in his throwing hand. I’ve never seen a baseball player use one of these during a game; they can get really hot and probably do combat the lake effect in Cleveland. Still, Yuni’s Hottie is a cause for concern. On the very next pitch, Yuni fielded a groundball. Look at what happened to the Hottie (it’s surrounded by a thin red circle):

Yuni just threw the Hottie onto the outfield grass. It didn’t affect the play… this time. I can just envision Yuni either tripping on the Hottie, or a ball taking a bad bounce off of the Hottie. So Yuni, beware the Hottie.
