Yuniesky Betancourt’s teammates Ichiro(!) and Adrian Beltre won Gold Gloves.  Yuni was beaten out by Orlando Cabrera.  Cabrera placed 11th in the Fielding Bibles’ voting (Yuni got the fewest votes at 16th.)  Clearly, Sam Perlozzo and the Mariners propaganda machine have some work to do.

Jose Guillen took HGH.  The P-I puts it into perspective, saying don’t worry, he’ll still get paid handsomely this off-season.  Meanwhile, the Clean Cuban (now there’s a failed nickname) will get just $1.5 million.  Still, I’m more pleased Guillen won’t be back.

The M’s signed a $400 million cable TV deal with  Fox Northwest.  To put that into perspective, that’s more than 266 Yunieskys.  In the article, M’s president Chuck Armstrong says the team might have the second-best local ratings in baseball.  This must be due to the huge swath of land the team controls.

Lookout Landing has a season-review for Yuniesky that I almost completely agree with.
