Yuni finally has more walks than triples April 23, 2008

Yuniesky Betancourt got the day off on Sunday, and the whole team didn’t play Monday. These two days either gave him a chance to enjoy some pepperoni pizza or to think about his approach at the plate. If it was the latter, it payed off, because on Tuesday, Yuni was 1-2 with a walk. (If it was the former, it payed off because it was delicious.) Yuni now has two walks on the season (both coming against the Orioles), versus just one triple.

Here’s the log of Yuni’s momentous walk.

I honestly can’t believe that Yuni took ball four. A not-too-low slider, just  off the plate.  With two strikes, most batters would swing, Yuni foremost among them.

So now Yuni has more walks than triples or, as some commenters said on Lookout Landing, as many walks as nipples.
